Originally from the United States, Steven
Weathers is now based in Shanghai, China. He studied English Literature
at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and in 1995, he received
his Masters degree in English Language and Literature from the University
of St. Andrews in Scotland. After graduation, Weathers worked in London
doing marketing projects with the BBC, Penguin Books, and KPMG before returning
to his home state of South Carolina.
After returning to America, Weathers
founded PenPointe LLC, an advertising and marketing agency that specializes
in technology-enriched marketing tools,
such as web sites, CD-ROMs, corporate videos, TV commercials, and print
collateral. PenPointe's client list includes companies such as BMW, Michelin
Greenville Hospital System, SYNNEX Information Technologies, ElliotDavis,
and many other companies representing industries in manufacturing, financial,
education, hospitality, and not-for-profit.
In 2005, Weathers moved to China
in order to provide more opportunities to his clients in both Asia and
America. He has consulted with a number of major
Chinese and international companies in manufacturing, hospitality, retail,
and international trade.
Weathers enjoys exploring new places and
has traveled to over 25 countries on six continents. His vocational interests
teaching, public speaking,
and writing. He has taught seminars on business technology in America,
Ecuador and Argentina, and he has also been the featured speaker on the
the "Importance of Leadership" to top university students in
both North and South America, as well as Asia. Weathers has published
articles and essays on business technology, leadership, and travel.
hobbies include writing, running, swimming, and hiking.
